Hair bow holder

This bow holder is super duper cute and sooo incredibly easy to make.  I was looking around at different crafts shows for a bow holder and  noticed that they looked so easy I figured I could just make them myself for my little Charli and for my friend's little girls. I took pieces I saw online and at shows and revamped them to fit my style and what I was going for. 

I started with a wood plaque I found at Hobby Lobby for an incredibly cheap price of  .99 + I used a 40% off coupon.  You can choose whatever size and shape you want because they have all kinds there, but for this I just want a small simple size that wouldn't overtake the wall. These first pictures are my first attempt at making a hair bow holder and as you can see from pics toward the end, they get better each time. This one I made to give at a friend's baby shower. 

I first spray painted it with a brown spray paint:

Then I found a cute scrapbook paper I wanted to use and measure and it cut it out according to the size on the top of the plaque. Once measure I used my favorite ingredient, Mod Podge to glue and seal the scrapbook paper on the top.

Next, I cut out a green S and glue onto a piece of white paper and then cut around the green S to make a white border around it.  I then Mod Modged it onto the plaque.

I then took some pink ribbon I got from Hobby Lobby that is 1.5" thick and cut 2 strands that measured about 17" long.  I turned the plaque over and at the bottom, I hot glued the ribbon strands about 3" apart.

Then I took some see through ribbon I liked, that is about 1" thick.

Lastly I took I cute little green ribbon rose I made and ho glued it to the upper left hand corner of the plaque.

For Charli's bow holder above, I used a some distressing techniques I have talked about in a previous post.

 I also added a wooden "C" I found at Hobby Lobby and  Mod Podged cute scrapbook paper on the "C" and just hot glued the C on the plaque.
